Introduction

FixMyFile is operated by MyBliss Technologies, a South African company. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use fixmyfile.co.za, and how we comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act, Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

How FixMyFile works

All file processing on FixMyFile happens entirely inside your browser. When you convert, compress, resize, or otherwise process a file, that work runs on your own device — not on our servers. Your files are never uploaded to any server operated by MyBliss Technologies. We never see, store, or have access to any file you process.

The AI background removal feature downloads a model to your browser once, then runs it locally. No image data leaves your device during processing.

What personal information we collect

We collect very little. Here's what actually happens:

• Analytics data — We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and tools people use. This data is anonymous and contains no personal identifiers. We cannot link analytics data back to any individual.
• No accounts — FixMyFile requires no sign-up, login, or personal details of any kind to use.
• Invoice and document details — Some tools (such as the invoice generator) let you enter business details like your name, company, and address. This data is saved only in your own browser's localStorage — it never leaves your device and we never receive it.
• Google Drive import — If you choose to import a file from Google Drive, you authenticate directly with Google through their OAuth flow. We receive only the file you select. We do not receive your Google credentials, account details, or any other files.

Cookies and localStorage

We use your browser's localStorage (not cookies) to remember your theme preference (light or dark mode) and any invoice business details you've saved. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

We don't set tracking or advertising cookies ourselves. Google Analytics and Google AdSense may set their own cookies when you visit the site. You can block or delete these using your browser settings or a browser extension.

Third-party services

FixMyFile uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Google Analytics — Collects anonymous usage statistics. Google Privacy Policy.
• Google AdSense — Serves advertisements on the site. Google Privacy Policy.
• Google Drive API — Used only if you choose to import a file from Google Drive. Google Privacy Policy.

We don't sell your data to any third party, and we don't share personal information with anyone outside of the services listed above.

Your rights under POPIA

As a data subject under POPIA, you have the following rights:

• Right of access — You can request details of any personal information we hold about you.
• Right to correction — You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
• Right to deletion — You can ask us to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal obligations.
• Right to object — You can object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
• Right to lodge a complaint — If you believe we've handled your personal information unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Because we collect very little personal information and none of it is linked to your identity, most of these rights may not apply in practice. But they're yours regardless.

The Information Regulator is the statutory body responsible for POPIA compliance in South Africa. You can reach them at www.inforeg.org.za.

Data retention

MyBliss Technologies does not store personal data. Analytics data (anonymous) is retained according to Google Analytics' standard data retention settings. localStorage data on your device is retained until you clear your browser data.

Children

FixMyFile is not directed at children under the age of 18. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the site, contact us and we'll delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For significant changes, we'll add a notice on the site.
